 🕊️New Book by Darion D. Landrum🕊️

Why I Wrote No Rest: A Story That Wouldn’t Let Me Sleep

Some stories are born from imagination. Others are born from burden. No Rest came to me like a whisper in the night—but it never stayed quiet. It was persistent, sacred, and weighty. It burned in my chest until I gave it room on the page.

I didn’t write No Rest just to entertain (though I hope you enjoy every twist). I wrote it to enlighten, to warn, to wake people up to the realities of spiritual warfare, identity, and divine calling. At its heart, No Rest is a mirror held up to the soul—a reminder that our battles aren’t just physical, and our destinies aren’t random.

As a faith-based fiction writer, my goal isn’t just to tell a good story. It’s to tell the truth through story. And sometimes the truth looks like fantasy, allegory, or vivid spiritual symbols. Sometimes it comes through characters who are flawed but chosen. Sometimes it sounds like war cries and quiet prayers. Sometimes it pierces like a sword—but always with purpose.

The Privy, my creative space, was born from this calling. I heard God say I was His “Privy Penman”—a scribe of the secret place. That name stuck with me because it defines how these stories come to life. In prayer. In stillness. In obedience.

I believe No Rest is more than just a book. It’s a divine assignment. A warning to those asleep. A comfort to those weary. A charge to those called.

This is just the beginning.

Will you read with me? Will you watch the pages unfold? Will you guard your strings?

Welcome to The Privy Saga.

There’s no rest for the called.
